Guys, I think I may have gone a little overkill with my fuel pump....need advice.
First lets start off with the car.....its an all motor k20 crx with stock internals. I recently decided to get a fuel cell for the car to drop weight and had to recently purchase an external fuel pump. I ended up purchasing an Aeromotive A1000 fuel pump and soon realized that I probably bought a pump that was WAY overkill for my setup.
I have an Oddysey PC680 battery in the car right now and it has worked fine and never given me any problems. I am now concerned however that if I run this pump in my car, its gonna drain my battery like crazy and have problems like this guy was having:

My plans for the car are to keep it all motor, but I might spray on it later. My question is, should I keep this pump and use it in my car or should I buy something a lil more conservative such as an Aeromotive Tsunami or 700 HP (not sure what the difference is between the two). I dont want to be draining my battery every time I make a pass in the car and would not like to worry about charging a battery up while im at the track. FYI I had a 255 walbro in tank pump in the car before with the PC680 battery and never had any starting issues. Thanks for the help guys.

well ive seen 255 walbros in 400hp civics and built evos and others so mayb u should stick to the walbro but if fuel is ur issue why not get a bigger tank
I have a aeromotive pro series with a pc680 and I havent any issues with recharging the battery unless I leave my car off and my lights on. One time I didnt start my car in over 3 weeks and it started right up.
98civicswapped, thanks for the feedback. I wonder why some people are having problems with these pumps draining the batteries so fast.
The bosch looks like a nice piece, maybe ill consider that once I decide whether im gonna keep this A1000 or not.....thanks for your feedback. Anyone else?
No problem. Another ht member Turboed4dr also has a pc680 with a a1000 that he runs and I dont think he ever had issues with the battery dying.

What kind of setups are you guys running? Turbo cars? I'm still on the fence about getting rid of it or just keeping it. Looking for some more replies....
I've had multiple cars/setups with a pc680/similar sized battery with a-1000 pumps, never had an issue. Also, walboro makes an inline pump that works just fine.
at 70 psi, the a1000 is drawing ~18 amps
at 70 psi, walbro 255's draw ~11 - 12 amps
I would think you'd be fine for at least a couple hours of runtime, unless you have a weak battery or an electrical drain somewhere else.
