every 100 thousand should be fine. or even 60,000 miles if youre real cautious about your car. its not an expensive part anyway, but if you have emission laws to worry about then replace it before you get a smog check. that usually happens before those miles come up if you have emission laws

You dont have to replace the PCV valve. Just clean it with carb cleaner and make sure the ball is free moving. Then it will be good as new.

HonBeer, while you may be right, a new PCV valve is about $3 and a new grommett is $1...
really worth the trouble for that price?

to the OP, if in doubt just change it.. its so cheap so why not
changed mine and help solve some sludging issues i was having

a PCV valve is a very simple device.. there really is no need to get OEM...

I get Purolator PCV valves for $3 at advance auto parts... just go to your nearest parts place and pick one up.. Remember to change the gromett when you change the valve

you know, rebates are cool but i never have sent any in because i am lazy on that kinda stuff. brake cleaner is about 4 dollars so i just figure whats an extra $2.50 (after paying for a stamp)? i have change in my tool box, laundry room, couch, bedroom, car, the junk drawer in the kitchen, and more places. and you have to wait to get it huh? how long did it take to receive it?

and the pcv valves are not oem. i just get them from auto zone. i dont even know what the brand is but i think its the only pcv valve they have for a car. theres not a real big selection on brands of those that i am aware of. maybe they have a rebate on them too
