I have a question... Does anyone know of a device a piggy back of some sort or something that a OBD 2 emission tester can plug into and get the readings it needs to pass emission? My car is converted to OBD1 and tuned on E85, it runs clean... but since it's converted to OBD 1 the OBD 2 plug doesn't work... and when I go to do emission test, I need to convert back to OBD 2 in order to pass (it's only once a year, so it's not too bad, but if I can have a simulator/emulator as a permanent solution would be nice)... I'm wondering if anyone has had any experience with these devices or if they even exist? I've done some google searches, but haven't found anything concrete...

^^^ I tried that... it only works for a while and then it comes back on. But for you to pass emissions? hrmm thats kinda rare.. anyways I would just get it illegally smogged or done right which means installing a cat converter with a secondary o2 sensor bung. Your talking about the secondary o2 sensor right? for the obd2 vehicles?

 

No, not just the o2 sensor... I was talking about a stand alone ecu of some kind... When i convert back for testing i have to swap injectors, ecu, put in a cat...

 

what state do you live in? i love how people modify their cars then dont think about having inspection/emissions. if you do it legit then yeah pretty much s.o.l as far as an easy way to do it. if it was then there would be race cars all over the place passing emissions with flying colors

 

Oh i've thought about it... it takes me less than an hour to get my car emission ready... it's just the fact that i'm lazy anymore to do it, and looking for alternatives... don't talk down on people when you don't know what's going on. I didn't make the post for smartass remarks, just trying to see if there is anything like what I have in mind... if you don't know of such product or if one exists don't post, "i hate when people post non-sense into threads and have no clue about the question at hand"

 

since what you're talking about is highly illegal you're not going to get much of a reply.
but it is possible.

 

check your wiring because i had mine for over 1 year and my light still off.
passed emissions with it
