Default Can't turn off the heat

Well, at least not all of it. The slide hot/cold control only goes about halfway and then stops. I looked at the cable where it comes through the firewall and goes to what must be a valve in the heater hose, tried to move it right there but it feels like it jams halfway. Has anyone ever had this problem? What did you do to repair it?

It needs some WD-40. Spray it on the cable and valve attachment in the engine bay by the firewall.

Could it be that simple? I'll certainly give it a try. Thanks.

the cable might need to be adjusted. i just took the cable off of valve on heater hose and zip tie it shut in summer and open in winter
