Heater valve cable? Any info? Does this have anything to do with cooling the engine or heater controls?

 

What's your real question about the cable?

It goes from temperature control lever on the dashboard, out to the heater valve in the engine compartment.

 

I think I asked the wrong question. My car is overheating, and there is a hose somewhere near the firewall behind the throttlebody that is not connected to anything. Everything looks connected and my car overheats and when I turn on the heater, you know, to cool it off a bit, no heat comes out of the vent!! any ideas???

Follow the hose, where does it go? Compare against drawings in either a Helm shop manual or the parts drawings on http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com or something like that.

Maybe your heater core leaked, so someone disconnected & plugged the heater hoses? I can only guess without knowing which hose you're talking about.
