If you track your car/ auto-x, rear discs are a nice improvement.

I think people say they do it for better braking, but they really do it because disk brakes look nicer than rusty old drum brakes behind your fancy new wheels.

if you have rear brake problems, which would you rather work on, rear drums or rear discs? I do rear disc conversions on all my cars for this reason. rear discs are a million times easier to work on.

I just did the upgrade on my car and the stopping power is much better. Of course my drums were worn out, but still. And like others have said, discs look better and are much easier to work on than drums. I can't wait to upgrade my fronts now.

everything that was mentioned, plus variety. There are many rotor size, caliper size, pad type choices. where as the stock drums are fairly limited as to what you can do with them.

This is a stupid question. Your basically asking why someone would "upgrade" their braking system.

^Agreed. And as a sidenote, front discs have been mandatory since 1968 thanks to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 105 required front discs and a dual-chamber master cylinder for all cars.

I was being sarcastic. Good grief man. We all know your car has front discs. Not many cars running around these days with drums in the front.
