Default Need help with 95 civic!!!

Ok so i just got my first car, im only 17 and i got a 95 civic ex, im trying to get into the honda thaang so i need to smog my car but my check engine light is going on. I put a new o2 sensor and reseted the ECU, but it still was going off. Then i ran the diagnostic test and it gave me the code 41 wich is the "heated oxygen sensor heater" but i would like to know what it exactly means, if i just replaced it with a brand new one. I need help i am new to civic's and i dont have anybody to help me so i would appreciate it is this forum would help me start my project!!

Sounds like the wiring to your O2 sensor is shorting. If you don't have a speedometer reading check the fuse (they run on the same fuse if my memory serves me correctly), but check anyway to make sure the O2 sensor heater fuse isn't blown..it should blow if it's shorting out somewhere.

The O2 sensor heater is on the O2 sensor itself, you can't really change them independently.

Usually if your 02 Sensor wiring has a bad spot and is shorting out it will pop your 15A ECU Fuse in the engine bay fusebox.

Try unpluging it make sure that all the connections are clean inside both plugs and reconnect them. If this don't work check to make sure it is getting power and check all your gounds in the engine bay.
