Crap, I just realized my CEL doesn't light up when I start the car! Could you give me some advice?
I haven't had the CEL come on since I bought my CRX in April (JDM B16A) and I've done a lot of mods. Today I realized that it doesn't come on at all, even if it wanted to! Is the light burnt out or could it be something else? If the light is burnt out, is it a bitch to replace it...I have to take the whole dash cluster out, don't I?
pull up the passenger side carpet from the fire wall.theres a plate there with a little plastic hole.thats your ecu code or cel led.
Yeah, I did. It's throwing a code: dash, dash, dot, dot, dot.
Should I just concentrate on what code it is, and not worry about whether the CEL comes on or off?
By the way, how do I tell which ECU I have? I bought the car with the swap already done.

so the light blinks three times then stops and does it again? if it does its a map sensor code.pull off the metal plate,4 -10mm nuts.then theres 4 -10mm nuts that hold the ecu on the fire wall.it says what it is on the side, either pm6 or pr3.
Bulb burned out or the wiring between the light and the ECU is disconnected. Easy to verify both

theres no code 23 for obd-o knock sensor.
I looked here http://www.hondata.com/techecucodes.html
The 1st gen JDM B16A has a knock sensor, doesn't it? That site you posted has a chart of all the codes for USDM Hondas, not JDM engines. If a code 23 isn't the knock sensor on my engine, what would it be?
