Question regarding adjustment of Koni Sports
I recently received and installed my new Koni's and GC's. When I first got the shocks I tested out each one to make sure I could adjust from full soft to full stiff before putting them on the car and each one worked fine. Now that they are on the car, I was messing around with them and I can't get my passenger side front shock to adjust more than a half turn or so towards full stiff. Has anyone had this problem before? Did I install something wrong or too tight? I also have the GC upper mounts on the front but my other shock adjusts fine (about 2 rotations from soft to firm).
Nevermind, I figured it out. Reading comprehension > me.
I forgot to put 2 nuts on the shaft in the top hat to keep it from turning. It works fine now. I swear this always happens to me!

LOL good thing you figured it out. For something like that, though, you can usually call up Koni North America and they can help you out.
Haha! I was going to but they were closed when I got home. Plus I figured I'd better double check my work because it was very likely that the error was caused by me. I was right.
no idea what your rates are but the honda fwd chassis almost always responds well to a softer valving up front than you have in the rear. for example i'm on 500/430lb springs and have the fronts about half and the rear just off full stiff

Why would you go with more damping on softer springs? That just sounds odd, as in either you front springs are underdamped (probably) or the rear ones are overdamped (doubtful).

Note it also says to never adjust the shock fully (2 turns). "just off full stiff" is the farthest/stiffest you should go.
However "just off full stiff" seems rather extreme? From the Koni FAQ:
"If the car has performance upgrades (springs, wheel/tire packages, etc.) or the driver wants the car a bit more aggressive, most people find the optimum setting in the 1/2 to one full turn from the full soft range. Over the extended life of the damper or if the driver wants a specific firm handling characteristic, the dampers can be adjusted up higher. Very rarely will KONI ever need to be adjusted to the full firm setting"

Hehe. Well I have them set to full soft now and probably will more often than not. I just wanted to be sure I could adjust them. Nothing like spending $500 and the stuff doesn't work correctly. But like I said, it was my fault. I did read the directions, I just missed that part somehow.
