I did an ls swap in my eg about a week ago and replace the flywheel (fidanza) and got a new clutch kit (exedy stage 1). When I replace the throwout bearing with the new one it felt a bit loose and I wasn't to sure how to adjust it or tighten it up exactly I figured it would adjust it self after I bleed the clutch pedal and drove a bit. Here's what happen a few days after doing the swap I notice a sqeeking type noise which I didn't notice after I threw in the swap since I was running open down pipe so it was a bit loud, but now every once in a while it will knock or start like tapping of something. Do I pull my trans to check it out wondering how I would go about taking up the freeplay in the fork/bearing to get ride of that noise.

No it sqeaks and sometimes makes something like a knock if I don't press in the clutch but when i just start to press it to where the clutch starts to engage it stops
Welcome the famous Honda world's ISB. Input Shaft Bearing. I'm 99% sure that's ur problem. Drive ur car with windows down in a quiet street or garage with music off. And listen to a winding sound as you gain more speed. If u do its the isb.

I kinda pulled the trans already unless there's a way to hear it with it out. Also when I drove the car before the guy pulled the swap it didn't do this.

what's funny is almost the exact same thing happened to me when i put my exedy stage one in and along with the throwout bearing that came with it. I thought it felt loose also. I recently changed transmissions and stuck with the throwout bearing in the new transmission and everything is perfect now.

How would I be able to distinguish between my problem being an input shaft bearing and a throw out bearing. I put in a newly rebuilt D16Z6 motor with another (Si) transmission and had a whine. Then it started to grind (approximately at 200 miles) and clack around like something was loose. I immediately drove home at a RPM that minimized the noise then when parking was nearly unable to engage it into gear to park it. So I am thinking throw out bearing? Please also email me with your answer. I need to fix this fast, since I am down to only one car and here in NYC we have gas rationing and I need those 36 miles to a gallon right now.
