Default Need info on draw thru turbo kits

I know its not import relatedd, but I figured someone may have some knowledge on the subject. I am putting a draw thru kit on my sbc and have questions on how to set up the fuel. I also had a question on the bov, or some people say to run a cbv or diverter valve. Can anyone help me and supply some knowledge on the subject?

Thanks
Kris

You'll need to explain your acronyms. Your terminology is not universal knowledge. Sbc? CBV? (Diverter meaning recirculated?)

sbc means small block chevy, I have checked turbomustangs.com they have alot of info on blow thru but not draw thru. I have read that you need a special bov to divert the air and unburned fuel back into the carb. Thanks for your help if anyone else has any info please let me know.

He's using a carburetor for his turbo kit, so there the "draw through" method.

You will want a recirculated BOV. There are many brands that have that capability.

I am not sure that you will need one though if the turbo is after the throttle plate. Much in the same way that a diesel engine does not have a BOV, they have no throttle plate. No throttle plate after the turbo means no instant pressure surge so you should not get compressor surge.

You can still do a blow through with a carb and you can do draw through with EFI. It is just a matter of where the turbo is in relation to the throttle plate.

To the OP... I have been there and done that, my first turbo experience, and hands down EFI is FAR more reliable and effective in both performance and cost.

I realize some of us just have to learn through experience though... good luck with your project.

Thank you for your advise, I have never messed with carb turbo set up. I have done FI setups before, and think they are far superior to the carb set ups. I have been given a motor and draw thur set up for my 75 Chevy monza, and Im just trying to work with what I have been given. If I had the money I would put a fast system and and a FI set up.

Thanks for all of yalls input.
