Default Exhaust problem...help

Hey, I bought an Apex'i World Sport exhaust today, got ready to install it, and i realize that ALL of the flanges on the exhaust are 2 bolt, none on it to bolt up to the 3 bolt flange on the cat, there IS a 3 bolt gasket included...odd... am i missing something? Or is this product made incorrectly?

3 bolt cat flange on the car.

You can see the 2 bolt flanges on both ends of this pipe.

2 bolt flange on this pipe

other side of the 2 bolt flange

3 bolt gasket included with the kit.

they all seem to fit, one pipe was a little too long when lined up, but i kinda expected that, as my last exhaust for this car was like that as well. I just don't see why it would include a 3 bolt gasket, and have no 3 bolt flanges

Apex exhaust systems typically include an adapter piece which is 3" long or so and will adapt to make the exhaust fit your car. Have you measured or lined it up to see where it would end closest to the cat? My guess is you are about 3" from it or so.

Nope, exhaust is acutally about 3" too long (expected that much, the last one for this car was too, think it's b/c of the JDM ITR 4-1 header with carsound cat). I guess i'll just take it to a muffler shop and have it hacked up.

those pics don't look right.

the WS I picked up (well, it was given to me) had three pipes. The one off the cat had the three bolt holes...then a small angled pipe and finally the muffler. I need to get more pics...

that's slightly different from mine....which might be okay, except this pipe shouldn't be there...
http://home.attbi.com/~xjohnx/apexi/2bolt.JPG

I had one long pipe that went from the cat to just before that first bend (going back). Then a piece that took care of those two bends, and then the muffler (pipe from axel back)

so that's how yours is seperated? mine is supposed to be for an EK, but i think that first pipe on the system:

is for a 92-95 civic. i went out and jacked up my EG, and it has a 2 bolt bpipe flange.

I'm gonna call Apex'i tomorrow.

Okay, the exhaust you bought is obviously for a USDM spec SOHC Civic hatchback. Those have 2 bolt flanges, so you got the correct pipe for the car, but wrong pipe for your application

do the 96+ sohc/s have a 2 bolt cat? i'm almost positive those are 3 bolt. The people in the civic forum said their exhaust are 3 bolt (DC sports, etc), i think i got the a pipe from a 92-95, i know those are 2 bolts.
