installing power steering on 95 civic hatcback
hey guys i just bought a 95 civic hatchback, i *think* it's a dx, and it doesn't have power steering. did the dx model come with power steering? this is my dd so i like the have ps haha, would it be a direct bolt on to the dx? could someone tell me the parts needed to do a complete install? thanks.
My DX doesn't have PS, but it did come with AC. Others can confirm, but I know you'll need the power steering pump as well as the steering rack from a PS model as the manual rack is different.

thanks for the response, so my understanding is i'll need to yank the pump, rack, belt, reservoir, and what else? from a civic with ps, so probably an ex hatch? is this install fairly simple or complicated?
i believe AUTO dx's and si hatches are the only ones that came with power steering. as for an ex hatch no such thing my friend.
You will need to grab, pump, brackets, resevoir, hard and soft lines and rack from a model that has P/S.
I'm getting ready to yank mine off my Si, the rack is shot, but the pump, brackets and lines are all in good shape.

once more quick question, does anyone know a quick estimate off the top of their head how much the conversion should cost? i really have no idea, i'm not really a honda guy lol, had an rsx first so i know more about k-series and the dc5 chassis..
Don't quote me on this - but I wonder if you can use the rack and parts from a 4dr with PS. Probably a lot easier to find than some of those hatches. You'll have to check the part numbers.
Here you go, everything you need.
