I accidently got a dx trans instead of an si and I noticed as soon as I grabbed the shifter. It wasn't that bad but its not as crisp as the si and its alot sloppier and I got it replaced with an si trans over the weekend and I am happy again.

Acceleration does fell a bit quicker but it could just be in my head.

either way you will benefit more from an si trans and you will enjoy it more. BOth the dx and the std trans were designed for better fuel economy and the si was geared towards better acceleration. I believe the difference between the dx and si was the final gear which is why the si has better top gear acceleration then the dx or std. I have all three cars and the crazy 6speed in my wagon so I can honestly tell you that the si is the way to go. The dx gearing is long too

i do have that tranny yet (unfurtenetely)
the aceleration does get hurt a lot qith this tranny
they are way too tall....
i ran a best of 16.9 with it.,,,, when i supposed to be running a 15.7-15.9... so u can see it hurts a whole second of performance!
change it ASAP./ i am in look for a Si tranny ....

If you like running upstairs then the DX 4 or 5spd is the way to go. I accidently put a 4 spd on my Si hatch (Zc installed) and used to kill tegs upstairs. 110mph in 3rd @ 7000rpm!
