Easy transmission question
I know that's write PL3-3000 on a 'si transmission (89-91). Yesterday, I bought a transmission and I was thinking that is a 'si transmission (the guy said this to me), but it's not write PL3-3000 on it, but A000. ?!? What's the deal? it's a 'si transmission or just a poor 'dx ??
Sorry for my poor english... i talk french...

Yes, get your money back. The DX tranny has too long of gearing. I just got rid of mine for an Si/ZC hybrid tranny. And it makes a huge difference.

Re: Easy transmission question (Black4th)
count the number of splines on the input shaft, if there's 21 then it's an 88 and there is still a chance of having an si. the problem is you'll need an 88 clutch, flywheel, and pressure plate to make it work.
the tranny I recently got screwed into buying also says A000. It is an '88, and I haven't pulled it apart yet to check the gear ratio, but I plan to.

5th gear is right for either DX or SI, but the final drive is wierd, Si is supposed to be 4.250 and DX is supposed to be 3.888, so this tranny is even higher geared than a normal DX!!! boy did I get screwed!!
