Hi I was just wondering if there would be any problems using an auto manifold on a 5 speed. I have one on my DA now but the idle is acting up. it goes up and down from 2000 to 1000 repeatedly. jus wondering if its the manifold itself or if i just need to get a new idle control valve. oh also the car runs really rich only after it gets warmed up. could this be a part of that problem? any help would be appreciated thanks

 

sounds like you need to clean you IAC valve,, how do you know its running rich?

 

i tried cleaning it and its still acts the same. when the car warms up then some smoke comes out of the muffler and it smells rich like gas

 

The intake manifold has nothing to do with your transmission.

 

you can use a auto intake manifold but there will be 1 extra coolant line you will have to cap off. I would check all your vacuums and throttle body before tearing the manifold off.

 

oh ok thanks bro. ill try use another throttle body and iacv. ill let you know if i find out the prob

 

hey guys just a heads up. my car runs great now. all i did was block off the iacv and then adjusted the idle with the idle screw and cable. soooo found out it was my iacv was no good so ill just run it like this untill i find a new one
