Default new member...a lotta questions...

hey to all. i am a new member. i own an '01 NBP ITR with a JDM B18C ITR. I'm in the process of a head build ^_^ i'm using a CTR head that i'm planning on having fully polished and built...and that's about as far as i've planned...i don't really have an ultimate goal for the R. just want something fun and reliable to drive that's all ^_^ any tips/advice on what kinda components i should go with on the head??? i'm shouting for a 9500rpm redline...thanks in advance!

People will probably want to know how much power you want and how much money you're willing to spend

Welcome. Check out the FAQ thread...there's also numerous threads with information about builds other people have done, as well as suggestions. Do a little research and you'll find plenty of information.

I don't mean to go off topic, but what happened to the original motor to the car? What's your ITR's badge number?

i'd like to see 200whp...i know i can't achieve that with JUST a head build...i really don't want to force induct if i don't HAVE to...but i think i might have to : / and as far as budget goes, i'd prefer to get the whole head project done for no more than like $1600-$2000 if possible..i'm going to be using my ITR cams. so really what i think i'm needing is: 3 angle valve job, full polish, valves, seats, guides, springs, retainers, and gaskets. i'm' sure there's more that i'll need, but hopefully i've budgeted enough for what those things i might be forgetting...

I believe the ctr and itr cams have the same grind. So you should be good with the cams off the ctr head. I would extrude hone rather than have it hand ported IMO.

why would you want to rev the motor up to 9500 rpms if the cams stop making power at about 8600? just a thought

Why do all that head work if you are retaining stock cams?

I was just letting him know that the itr and ctr cams are the same, as he stated he had a ctr head and wanted itr cams. I never stated anything about power. Bringing up the revs get you more mph in the same gear.

lol well to be honest i just want to be able to rev high for poops n giggles...i'm not trying to force induct, or go full blown NASCAR with the caR. i just want to make it reliable and a tad more fun to skoot around in. and i was always under the impression that CTR and ITR cams were a different grind.
