Icon6 My K24 Build Process

Well its been a while since I had a build thread but here I am again. Well on Jan 1 My car met dooms day. Driving home from a new years party at about 1pm and my friends pulls next to me and yells aye its done. I turn down and the music and my stomach drops i hear my car and spun rod bearing cause by low oil after I took my car to EZ lube(bastards). I tow the car hm and block is seized. I then debated if i was going to fix the k20z3 or just go ***** out and buy a k24. Went with a k24 and I'll be updating the process as weeks/months go by.

Current:

K24a4 block w Tsx Rods and Pistons.
K24a2 Chain tensioner
k24a1 passenger mount
k20z3 Oil pump now after the stock a4 pump couldnt handle the head
k20z3 Oil cooler( hot tanked due to metal bushings from spun rod bearing
k20z3 Head (new head gaskets)

Mods:
Takeda SRI
Kiddracing Dominator Race Header
Full Race 3" Exhaust
P2R TBS
RDX Injectors
Flashpro

Items Needed for the swap

Highly recommend a K20a2 or k20z3 oil pump learned my lesson the hard way.
If your Looking to keep the balance shafts and a smoother quieter ride then transfer the k20z3 oil pan and pump. If your looking to build big big N/a then either an a2 or moddified f20c oil pump will work. Without any of these expect to have not enough oil flow to compensate for the head car will feel hesitant. Might throw a low oil pressure light like how I did. Also if you use the A2 you will need to plug the jets in the k24a2/a4

Next up is the dip stick. Now since the k24 is slightly taller than the k20z3 might want to try and get you a hold of a Tsx dipstick.

K24 Timing chain cover shouldnt be a problem since the long block already has it.
k24 Head gasket
k24a1 crv passenger engine mount. I bought a 2004 to have installed so 02-06 should work.
k24a2 tensioner, skunk2 or hybrid racing. Skunk2 and Hybrid been having issues with their tensioners so they stop selling them until they resolve the issue.

I'll be adding the pics tmrw when I have more time

Thanks for posting this, I'm sure a lot of people will be interested.

Why did you go to some cheap lube place?

Dube fa5 all of it is coming from my pockets Ez has a long waiting list of lawsuits so could take awaile for me to get my funds back from them n I couldn't wait. So I had to get her fixed and believe it or not its kinda fun but damn its starting to get expensive. Its like soon as one thing goes well you have to change something else to complete the transfer

Pretty sweet. I bet it will be fun. What did Ez lube do? Not put enough oil in?

You have any pics of plugging the jets on the k20a2 oil pump? I have to do the same thing and would like to see
