Default need help.

I have a 1992 honda accord lx. When i am stopped at a stop light my rpm's will drop and the rise until i start driving again. Does any one know why this would be happening and how to fix it?

Is your check engone light going on? Get the teouble codes from that if so.

Start with bleeding your coolant system. If there is any air your car will idle like crap. Check intake hoses for any vacuum leaks as well. If any hoses are torn then there is your problem. Another easy fix is Pull your air control valve (IACV or EACV) and fill it up with carb cleaner and let it sit for about 30mins. It takes about 15mins to pull off, its right on your throttle body. Then spray out again so its all nice and clean. IF that doesnt work, make sure the plugs to the EGR and air control valve are plugged in. Check your timing too but thats usually not the issue.

Well i did all the things you said but it still is idling bad. Do you have any other ideas?

first of all i think u got idle problem. throttle body might clog up. take TB out and clean it good n spay in any hole that u see (use TB cleaner) and dry it by blown air through it. replace with new gasket.

There are so many surging idle threads with fixes it's not even funny.

Do a search of the Accord section and you will most certainly find your solution in one of the threads.
