Default OBDIIB to OBDI Harness Required?

I am picking up my EG from a good friend of mine as soon as work slows down . It's a CX with a B16 Motor/Trans from a USDM 99-00 Si, it's running on a P28 ECU that is not chipped or tuned.

My question is do I need a jumper conversion harness like the one found on the link here ---> http://velocityshop.com/product/obd-...rness_423.html <--- The CEL and SRS light is on, SRS is due to an after market steering wheel with no air bags.

I am planning on getting the P28 chipped and tuned, will the tuner be able to get rid of the CEL and SRS? So do I also need the harness? This car will have to pass Illinois emissions test. This is my first B-Series so I am learning as I go, I would appreciate any and all of your inputs. Thanks.

Your car is already obd1, so no you don't need it.
The SRS light has nothing to do with the ecu.

The CEL can be checked per the instructions on http://www.phearable.net/tech
Your p28 ecu can be chipped for your engine.

Thanks, and greatly appreciate the link I'll be going through it this weekend. To my understanding the CEL will be on regardless even if the wiring and everything else is done correctly. Simply because the there are more sensors, etc on the OBD II motor. Correct? Once the P28 is chipped the CEL should go away. The SRS will be taken care with a DIY solution .

Jump your ecu to find out what code the CEL is popping up for then go from there. It could be a bad sensor or something easy to repair.

Thanks, I'll be sure to check out the code first.

Finally picked up the car and here is what i've found out so far, it pulled two codes.

10 - Intake Air Temp.
It's running a aftermarket short ram, the small red rubber sensor is plugged in and the wiring seems the be correct.

17 - Vehicle Speed Sensor
The speedometer is working, so this is odd. Again checked the wiring and everything seems to be in place.

Would autozone have the IAT sensor? Any suggestions on the two codes?
