Why would they wanna give out a loan for a motor swap, i just hope the op didnt say that to them. How much does a b16 go for 1500 tops? Op just chill save up some money and you can get your motor without paying interest.
lol i didn't say it was for a motor swap, i asked for a 'personal loan' and it was for a swap off of hmotors
so it was kinda pricey, anyways i am just gonna save unless i get the ls swap stuff im lookin for for cheap, otherwise
i'll boost my d series as mentioned before cuz i got 80% of a turbo kit for free so y not

I wouldn't waste my money on a B16. Either boost your D16, buy a B18B and boost that, or buy a GSR/ITR motor and run all motor (or boost, if you'd like). B16s, for the most part, are overpriced for what you get.

It's very possible to get a loan for an engine swap. I got one for a lip before. Waiting to save up was not an option. I've seen others get loans for swaps.
Just out of curiosity, but did they tell you why you weren't approved? Do you have bad credit or no credit? If you would of applied for your loan before the housing market crashed you would of been granted instantly. =P
Another option is (assuming you have a credit card) just charge it all to your card and stay on top of your monthly payments. This will not only build your credit, but teach you money management as well.
If you have poor money management skills then taking out a loan for a motor shouldn't be your top priority.

my friend did it with his boosted k swap. dont reccomend doing it though, in the time that it will take him to pay it off, he could have just saved and owned everything now.
Yep.
My lip was hard enough to find and I had never been sure how much I'd have to pay for one. Once I found one I jumped on it and got approved for a $500 personal loan the next day. I just didn't have $500 extra that wasn't needed for anything more important at that time. I don't mind taking out a small personal loan that I'm willing to pay off quickly.
I don't have any credit cards (not a fan). I paid it off so soon that interest really wasn't a concern at all.

A loan for a motor I can actually somewhat understand. I blew my motor in my Civic and if I could have, I'd have just gotten another motor to swap in instead of having it out of commission for a long time. I'm glad I didn't take out a loan, but that's because the place I worked for is run by unethical people who's mothers' were hampsters and fathers' smelled of elderberries. Just upgrading from a perfectly fine D series isn't the most responsible thing I think.
thats ture b16 are pricey for what they are unless u know someone but then again a b16 for ur 1st swap is always good cause u might beat on it a little :D
lol man id rather save then use credit cards! im talking from expierience!! i wrapped 10k on a card for car ****, after i finally paid it off, i cut that **** up lol!!
