braking problem help?
my cars been sitting for a month on jack stands with my calipers hanging and not on the rotor and now i got my car back on the road now my brakes almost dont work at all i push it the floor and barely start slowing down pretty new pads. when i was putting them back on i didnt have to clamp down the caliper center peice to get them back on, could the be air in my brake lines? if so how do i get it out?
Make sure you have your brake fluid reservoir full, have plenty of brake fluid on hand, you will need to top off the reservoir
I always start the the wheel farthest from the master cylinder, so right rear brake, then left rear brake, then right front, then left front. The honda manual says to do it differently.
You will need to have someone pump the brakes for you while you bleed. Do about ten pumps on the brake pedal, keep your foot held down on the brake and open the bleeder valve. (Make sure you have a small clear hose on it so you can drain it and see the air bubbles), close the valve and start pumping the brakes again, I bleed each wheel a few times, make sure to keep checking the brake fluid reservoir and top off as needed
Here is the page from the Honda manual

i bled my brakes and no luck with the breaking problem, the prior owner had a broken stud on the master cylinder drum and have noticed air escaping as i push down on the brake pedal could this be my problem, im pretty sure there was no air escaping before when i was driving my car
u might have a thing called a hydro lock crack all the bleebers and let it sit for a couple hours thats called gravity bleed method. and the stud might be ur reason. dose it move it off of the brake booster?
