Default New Motor Build - Info Needed!

Been reading around here for a few months and decided to get my engine built. Its a stock b16a2 that just blew a piston ring, so i figured this is the time to build. There installing probe forged pistons and rings and eagle rods as well as arp headstuds. The pistons will be just under stock compression....not sure exactly but 10 somthin. Also doing a mild port and polish and valve job. Im currently running an ebay 57 trim hunk o junk turbo puttin out 270hp at 11psi tuned on hondata. The hp number is low due to the compression at the time of tuning due to it being tuned awfully before i bought the car. I just bought a 50 trim t3/t4 garrett turbo and am gonna retune with that after the engine is done being built.

My tuner wants to retune at 17psi, with the new garret turbo ....

DO you think that 350whp is possible at 17psi?

Any have experince with probe pistons.... im sure the eagle rods are gtg

Anything else i should look into while the block is open? I was thinking vavsprings but i rarely ever hit redline.....

-boost preassure is almost unrelated to power output// less boost more timing = basicly same power/ power is made by fine tuning timing with boost till detonation(in your case alot of detonation) is resonable or safe. Limits of this are FUEL/CFM flow limitations of turbo in your case like NONE 400hp+/ if you opted for say E85 or went methenol you could net alot more power because less detonation so more timing hence more power. This all falls back on your tuner in getting as close to knock as possible while still being "safe". -Furthermore, other contributing factors can increase knock(misfires, temps, oil control to name a few) Anyways that is pretty much HOW much power is possible.

-Head work on a turbo motor is not pointless but $ can be better spent elsewhere in most applications. For example if you were trying to achieve over 400hp probly necessary.

-No valve springs 400hp+ needs em probly tho again headwork^

-Possibly gsr cams/springs if you really wanted to i would imagine for the $ it would be worth it. I a whole c1 head for 150$ lol...

-spent the $ on big ole radiator/ super efficient intercooler/ and dyno time

Good luck!

-350hp should be pretty easily attainable since some are hitting close to 300 on a stock bottom end...=hard to believe but i guess achievable

-never heard of probe EVER so no idea just look at silicon content as far as other manufactures if their make up is same as competitors id say their same stuff new name

would the gsr cam give me more top end power? maybe somehting with a bit more low end... these b16's are pretty gutless

..its a honda no low end

-turbo lag will make it feel like its got no ***** down low a good manifold can help

-cams give anything more power pretty much everywhere normally but mostly upper end they start to shine/ if you get really really aggressive cams they can help midrange through top but low end probly get rough idle speeds cruisin etc.

-that t3/t4 should make a big diff. their flow maps are like.....5x better than stockers or ebay
-ball bearing turbo spool significanly quicker ive read (dont know if yours is) 50 trim is kinda big if you ask me get ***Corky Bells Maximum Boost it will blow your mind kinda a bor to me but i scimed it and ref. it now and again.
