can a stock y8 handle 7psi and nitrous
Is the Y8 sohc vtec? We have a Y7? (sohc non-vtec) stock motor making around 230 whp on like 12 lbs on a mitsu 16G turbo with no problems running vafc hack and 450's.....
Nitrous is the devil
Well, on the dyno it is anyways......nitrous backfire makes 14psi stock B18C go boom on the dyno

nitrous is only the devil because the user doesn't know the proper way of using it. nitrous can be very helpful if the user is knowledgeable of the substance.
and why would you waste your money on a whole nitrous setup for only a 20 shot? if your Y8 is in good shape, it should be able to handle 10 psi if tuned properly.
just stick with turbo

thanks for the replys. what kind of mods will i need to go from 7 to 10 psi without building the engine? i know it involves a lot of tuning.
what the **** are you people talking about? According to fast and furious he can run 10psi EASY with a 75 shot of naWzzzz.
If you want to go from 7 to 10 psi i would recommend
larger injectors
intank fuel pump
adj fpr
fuel rail
hondata
good dyno tuning
some more good dyno tuning

shut up f&f is the stupidest movie ever thats why i said that i probably cant spray on it. im just trying to get some info here. there are too many bitches on this board who cant answer a simple question without giving someone ****. i didnt think that a stock y8 could handle 10psi. so again what exactly will i need to run 10psi on a stock block.

Look under customer cars at our civic, that's what you need to run 10 psi.....it now has a fuel pump, 16G, clutch, and some other goodies.....

it will be o.k.
and a stock y8 block on 10 psi of boost will only be as reliable as the tuning. if you never tune it, buh-bye motor.
they are right about the tuning i ran 11psi with the afc hack and boom....on the way home from hot importnights too.... it's ok thoguh cause i'm building it to run 12-15psi and nitrous
hack = bang, hense the word hack
hondata = power!
J/K but everytime I do some thing the cheep way it always cost more in the long run.

10psi on a y8 is pushing it some, i know some have done it. I did 8psi with safc, 440's, vortech fmu 12:1 disk, and 255lph fuel pump. I wouldn't recommend doing the hack, out of 3 friends that have done it, only one of their cars is on the street at any given time.
i wouldlt even think of going past 8psi..let alone n2o..
comeone isnt ur car got plenty of speed as it is?? i know some times we want more..but dont do it unless u pan on doing a rebuild or repacing the motor all together and waiting for ur car to get fixed..
