if you do not put some high compession pistions in you will probally loose power because the high flow vtec head so unless you are willing to rebuild id said is not really worth it

Wow, just wow there is awful info in this thread.

OP you need to know exactly what's in making a b18 motor into a vtec running motor.

You'll know how to build a good one for a good price.

What do you want from the motor? Do you have any laws or rules to follow?

High flow = loss of power, please please explain that. The compression is a factor yes but just wow dude.

So op you need to list what your car is for and what rules or laws you have and your budget if you can't figure it out yourself.

In my opinion, its not worth it... why spend all that time and money to gain what 50, 60 HP? Boost my friend, is calling your name... For the same amount of money, you could be making twice the power... My old roomie had an ej w a BONE stock boosted LS... He ran 12.8 in the 1/4. I dont remember all the specifics, but I do remember that it was an EBay turbo too. He just had to replace the manifold after awhile (very weak welds)... Id def go boost

umm.. de didnt say anything about boosting it so

as stated before it depends on what you're going to be using your car for, and or what you want it to do.

post specs and take it from there

This whole section has been such fail lately.

Change out the oil pump and water pump and use a gsr belt and you should be golden. Remember to tune if you want the most out of any set up.

I agree on the Fail increase in the EF section. Its better to sit back, read and watch. Jump in an get infractions.

Tech doesn't exist anymore in the EF and 5th/6th gen forums.

they are needed for the addition of vtec. oil pump is needed for higher/better flow needed to run vtec.

you will also need an oil line. tap the B-series Vtec head. the following is personal choice:
-T-fitting at oil pressure switch to allow oil flow to vtec head via the oil line; or
-(this is how i did it) oil adapter plate for oil filter, does the same as above.

doing an LSV is personal choice. i did it to get my car ready in the meantime until my new motor is ready to go in my car this way i wont have to worry about getting things ready all at the last minute.

For the price you can use N2o. About 80shot should be safe. And no one can argue with that. Best bang for the buck.....
