DUDE! Don't tempt me! I want KPRO sooooo bad.

Any chance you wanna give a slightly more detailed evaluation?

As for the revs... I am guessing whatever they set it to should be safe? I am sure Honda was very conservative on where they set the factory rev limiter to.

I heard the reflash is only like $295 now! Now that is tempting! I can't wait to get my K-Pro though so I can finally throw my car together completely. Also, I think something like 7800 would be safe for the a3. I know plenty of people that go higher but it's a pretty big risk I think. If you want to rev higher with a little less of a risk, I would get a Type-S oil pump.

rods are pretty weak in the a3... I wouldnt go much higher than that.

Congrats on k-pro. Now save up for a real tune and you'll be set.

I am going to join in on your thread. I am getting kpro soon for my type s. What is a safe rev limit raise on the a2? I have seen 8600 in a search. What did you rev to before yours blew up, Spaz?

Depends on your tune...I highly recommend Dyno tuning your car as opposed to street tuning because you'll get the most power out of your car. For me VTEC kicks in at 4900 and i think my limit is 8400 but based on my chart i don't even need to take it past 8000 since my powerband tops off at 7600... Every motor and car is different though so what works for someone else necessarily won't work for you hell even using other peoples maps could **** your car up...

This makes sense. Been a while since I tuned a car. Forgot about it dropping off power.

You're joking, right?

The A3 stock redline is 6800rpms. I wouldn't take it over 7700rpms. 8000+ is just asking for trouble.

Plus, there is no power to be had up that high, anyways.
