Icon2 sensor error

Just a question I have to ask I have a problem with obd1 code 43 (knock sensor error) on a non-vtec '93 honda civic it knocks every now and then when i crank it up but the check engine light comes on after I've been driving for about 10 minutes whether it's running fine or shitty I know the head gasket is shot it leaks slowly onto my transmission but I can deal with that for now I was thinking maybe the injectors could be to blame since it has over 213,000 miles on it the engine is all stock and the fuel pump is about 6-8 months new I just changed the plugs and wires any suggestions?

What engine and what ECU are you running, because the stock Civic doesn't have knock sensor?

That's definitely a stock '92-'95 DX/LX engine (D15B7). You can see the engine code on the sticker on the timing belt cover. It's also imprinted on a flat plate on the engine block, on the front, where the engine meets the transmission.

But with that engine, you shouldn't have a knock sensor. If you're throwing that code, I'm guessing that you have the wrong ECU. It should be a P06. If you pull back the carpet under the passenger side of the dash, it will be bolted to the right side. On the ECU, once you unbolt it from the side there, will have a sticker on it with the ECU code. It will say something like 37820-P06-A01; with the P06 being important ECU identification code you're looking for.

I really appreciate the information I read up on the knock sensors yesterday and they seem like a real pain in the ***
