Help: dead starter, battery?
Hey guys,
New ITR owner here not a big mechanical guy so need some assistance.
I insert the key into the ignition, turn it, everything comes on, radio works, but when I turn the key I get nothing, car will not start. I get maybe a slight click but that's it.
Also it started making this noise, it makes this noise even when the car has been off for hours, any ideas?

Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks alot

I had that same buzz under my car. It went away...never figured out what it was. I kept thinking I was hearing a phone on silent or something. Have you tried jump starting your car? A dead starter will usually kill the battery too.

i remember that noise. lol. In my case,I ended up changing the battery and my battery terminals at the same time and the problem went away. Hopefully your problem is as small as mine was. Good luck!
do you have an alarm installed on your car? if so, it may have a starter kill function. it's not uncommon for cheap alarms to fail and cause problems like this. or it may just be dead starter, assuming your battery is ok. You should talk to the previous owner and find out what he has installed (alarm, kill switch, etc)
As a matter of fact I was having trouble with the alarm and the system and fob itself don't strike as being anything higher then a very "economical" grade alarm system. Have sent an email to the previous owner asking for his advice. If it is infact the alarm system that has initiated a kill switch any ideas on how I would get around this? Key fob has an "option" button on it so maybe I'll try fiddleing with it when I get home.
i don't know too much about alarm systems. I know the control units themselves can cause problems. if it were me, i would check all fuses (usually in line with the alarm wiring under the dash) and try disconnecting then reconnecting the control unit. This would cause a power reset in the controller which may or may not fix the problem. other then that you may have to take it to an installer. they may repair it or replace it. I use a compustar 2-way in my car whicjh has been pretty reliable. You'll want to rule out the simple things first though (starter. battery)
