Default D15B7 Wierd Hot Start Idle Problems

Ok guys, I have a 95 coupe with a D15B7, auto if that matters.

Sometimes on hot starts, the car will idle at normal range, but sounds like it is misfiring, almost like a Subaru. When it happens, sometimes it goes away and idles normal, sometimes it lingers, and sometimes when I give it gas, it puffs smoke and goes away. The car always drives fine afterwards.

I'm stumped as to what it is. I was thinking headgasket, but the car doesn't consume coolant, it has fine heat, and there is no coolant in the oil. I replaced the cap and plug wires, and it seemed to help for a while, then the problem comes back. I guess it could have been chance.

So now, I don't know what to think. My dad says maybe the battery is dying, and is straining alot on a hot restart, and can't keep the motor running. Or I think that maybe the Engine Coolant Temp Sensor is going bad, thinking it's cold and dumping alot of fuel.

None if this happens at all if the car is cold. I'd appreciate any input, especially if any OG's could chime in

Would worn spark plug tube seals cause this? Maybe letting hot oil through to the plugs and eventually fouling them?

Base timing at idle on start up?
