99-00 civic si ecu (p2t), immobiliser?
hi sorry to jump in on your thread but im trying to find out some info on my cars ecu.
I have an EDM 1996 civic coupe with an immobiliser on it. I know the jap ecus have no immobiliser.
my question is if i swap out the ecu with a JDM equivelant will this remove the immobilizer , so even an uncoded key will start the car (have one coded key and a couple uncoded that just work on doors but not ignition), or will the car be left in an immobilized condition when i change the ecu? Is whatever system that reads the key code going to function ok without the original ecu.
pretty sure its obd1 ecu.
any help would be much appreciated, thank you

^ If you install a JDM or USDM 96 ECU, it will not have an immobilizer and WILL work to run the car.
As far as USDM OBD2 ECU's, only the 2000-2001 integra ECU's have a built in immobilizer. For those who are interested, we are able to remove the OBD2B integra P75, P72, and P73 immobilizer: www.hamotorsports.com//immobilizer-removal.html
To answer the OP's question; NO, the 99-00 civic Si ECU does not have an immobilizer and will work plug-n-play with 96-98 civic harnesses.

The P2T 99-00 civi si ecu is NOT plug and play with the 96-98 civics engine harness. The 99-00 civics use different ecu plugs then the 96-98. When I used the P2T ecu in my 98 civic instead of buying the obd2a to obd2b conversion harness I went to a junk yard and cut the ecu plugs out of a 99 civic and repinned them onto my 98 civic engine harness.
