Treat it as an OBD2 H22A and all your questions could be answered in the FAQ section.

The F20b is the rev-happy little brother of the H22. So maybe the torque isn't as high, but the high rev range and high final drive make it, fun for nipping round town, or the occasional autocross. Plus from what I've seen, the F20b doesn't cost as much as an OBDII H22a.

Weird thing about it..... in my owners manual, it says the Rev Limit of the Euro R (H22A) and the SiR (F20B) is 7400rpm. I dare say a lightened flywheel (or even an F20B unit) would allow a normal H22A to rev just as freely.

Quick answer to turtle, search for JDM OBD2 to OBD1 H22A conversion..... it may or may not require inlet manifold, injectors + resistor box, oil pump and distributor swapping.

The H22A redlines at 7400 and fuel cuts at 8000.

When I have my car back with the F20B, it's getting chipped to 8500.

From what I'm told as well, the F-head SUPPOSEDLY flow better then the H-Heads..

I always had a hard time accepting that but Ive never flow tested or seen proof of otherwise, while a few people have told me such isn't the case.

I would imagine that would be true with a head off a manual F20B.... due to the fact it has a larger throttle body & Type S cams installed.

What would he have done with the 2.2? I will tell you, made more power. I don't get why people "grip" him so much...Is his build sweet? Of course it is......
I didn't see any Dyno #'s or Track Times in the article about his showcar though...
Something I would require at least 1 of in a Feature HT article.......

^Indeed.

The only thing I'd put it in would be an Integra.

A Teg isn't much lighter than a Prelude....but at least it would be an UPgrade from the 1.8L instead of a downgrade from a 2.2L

Displacement is nice, but normal sleeves are nice too.

Why? Whats so special about them? 90% will never even open the motor up.

Well this will be year #6 driving the Prelude for me. And adding oil and more oil has gotten pretty old

Maybe I should run a 50 weight this year...with a 40 weight it's almost tolerable.

But yeah, I dream of a motor less susceptible to burn oil, ie not a FRM crapbucket.

Everything burns, but FRM motors are just stupid about it.

Pay to play......(And not referring to you directly) but it seems like most people complaining about FRM oil consumption are the ones driving tires *** motors that they can't afford to maintain properly.
My current JDM H22 will use >1/4 qt of oil during a 125mi track day whereas my 115k mile H22A1 would use about 1qt. <<--Old, tired, abused, and unfortunatelt NOT properly maintained.
We all know the FRMs burn more, but its not that bad.....Not to the point where I would give up 10% of my motor for it.

In regards to Big Mike, I don't doubt that his car RIPS!....Just stating it would Rip more, and lower in the powerband with a 2.2+
(Although I don't know what kind of power a 2.0L with a little extra compression, race header, and ITBs would make----Since no Dyno#s were listed in his feature!)
I'm sure its High Revving fun, but midrange yawn!

My JDM H22a doesn't lose any oil, I check it constantly just to make sure, I'm running 5w30 btw.

You got me there. =p

Waiting to drive it hard once I'm ready to track it. Too many Honda owners give us a bad rep for trying to race everything that stops next to them on the street so I drive it pretty conservatively.

I've heard a lot of people claim though that the JDM H22's came with better rings but that's most likely just people flappin their gums.

I'd say most likely people flappin their gums..... my Euro R uses a little oil if I drive it spiritedly, but if I'm nice to it, it uses hardly any at all.
