i have a gsr head on a b16 block what ecu should i use p72 p30 or p28

I didn't ask for your opinion on the setup, I asked which ecu would be best.

anyway u should use the P30 if you are not using the STOCK GSR Intake Manifold.
P72 fuel map would be crappy for that because its programmed for the GSR's intake manifold butterflies.

but on the B16 block regardless, use the P30 and unplug the Butterflies if you have that manifold.

 

nsxter: knocking other peoples' builds is unnecessary. The GSR head is actually a better design than the b16 and the flow is almost the same the the point you're splitting hairs even bringing it up.

j351w: any VTEC ECU will work. A P28 would probably be the cheapest. You really should tune any hybrid combination like that. The increased compression and more aggressive cams won't like a stock fuel map, or at least you'd probably make more power with a custom tune.

id get a chipped p28 xenocron (forgot how to spell it) can burn you a map for your set up, and then later on down the road all you gotta do is get different maps for your set up

 

You shouldn't even think about driving it until you get a chipped ECU and either take it to a tuner or tune it correctly yourself.

"Any VTEC ECU will work" is a ridiculous statement. You will not know what your AFRs are. You could be running 20:1 AFRs at wot... It would be crazy to drive like that.

And there is no guarantee that a generic basemap will work well with your setup. Unless it was made by a VERY experienced tuner, the values are usually way off.
Now anyone who has a chip burner calls themselves a tuner....
