Default Black Oily like drip on my clutch foot?

Hello, I am new to the site and new to an S2000 so hopefully you will be patient. A couple of times now i have got out of the car to find a drip of what looks like oil on my left shoe(right hand drive). It happened again today and I can't see where it is coming from. It must be from when I am pressing the clutch or resting my foot on the plate but either way can anyone offer any ideas as not only is it ruining my shoes, more importantly it cant be good for the car. It doesnt happen all the time as this is only the second time i have seen it but is a worry - thanks for any info.

Its your clutch master cylinder. Simple fix, just replace it. Mine was leaking just as you described and you would not believe the difference a new one makes over a leaking one. Feels like a totally different car.

No problem. I'm sure if you look at where your clutch pedal meets the push rod under the dash, there will be fluid on it. Also, where the master cylinder comes thru the firewall, there is a rubber dust cap on the master cylinder, I'm willing to bet that its leaking there and running down your clutch push rod and onto your kicks.

Also, might be time to think about a new clutch. In my old AP1, the CMC failed (got oil on the shoes like you), I replaced it, then about 3 weeks later my clutch was slipping like CRAZY. I found out it was done.

Not always the case, but worth looking into.
