2nd the z6 crank.

I always thought you need a Z6 H/G when you use a Z6 head...

What are your goals??

i used a compression calculator, it allowed me to choose a6 head gasket and that brought compression down to 9.03:1. thats why i am asking.. can i use a6? And why z6 crank versus y8? Im shooting for 300+ whp

I would use the Vtec H/G, so it will have all the oil galley holes you need.
You could get a cometic gasket then you can choose the thickness, so you can have the compression you desire.

hmmm yea i havent compared head gaskets to see what the differences are yet, just knew a6 would yeild lower compression... cometics are twice the price of regular head gaskets.. maybe ill just stick with the y8...

from what i can tell a6 H/G will fit on a z6 head no problem... compare pics.

Lol. Hardly. The most solid advice you have yet is to toss that crank. Don't think so? Invest in larger injectors, run more boost/hp and then come back here in a while asking why you spun a rod bearing. Hey, at least at that point you'll have bigger injectors to run more power when you rebuild the second time, right?

No need to worry about dropping the compression. 9.x is fine for a street turbo motor. If your goal is in the low 300s, you should be able to pull that off with 93 octane on a ~9.5 compression motor.

The higher compression should make the turbo more responsive on the street anyway.
