If this is a brand new used motor, I wouldn't worry about it. Give the motor a couple days to smoke and burn all that old chit out. After a couple days it should be gone and act like it should.

Used motors usually have been sitting in different weather conditions causing moisture to usually end up inside the plugs. Dont worry. Change the plugs if you want let the water dry out of the motor. It should start up make sure the car is getting spark and make sure its getting fuel

the car's not getting spark. we're thinking it's possible it's a bad distributor, or maybe the wiring to the distributor is messed up. we're pretty sure it's not fuel....

still not sure though, why wouldn't it be getting spark?

A good way to get rid of moisture down there is to spray an air hose in it, if you don't have time to sit and wait.
