Will a bad radiator cap cause a code 6?
maybe a bad temp sensor and tps. i had both two months ago i have a new tps and fixed the wire on my temp sensor. i would check there first and go from there

"The weird thing is that my temp gauge works fine.."
The "CTS"= coolant temperature sensor isn't for the gauge..
It's function is to let the ECU know engine coolant temperature
and it then adjusts the fuel mixture accordingly..
When this signal gets altered, the ECU will literally DUMP fuel into the engine..
usually flooding the cylinders and gas-fouling the plugs..
Check the wires and connectors under the distributor
wire colors are red/white and green/white
Check your PM for a link to service manual...

Awesome, thanks for the clarification. I was pretty confused about which sensor does what since I read that the ECT is on the back on the block then others said it was on the front under the distributor.
I'll check my PM. Thanks.

Well, that was a waste of $34. The wires to the ECT plug are fine. I purchased a brand new ECT and it made absolutely no difference.
The car continues to run rich and idle bounces like a ****.
The only thing that settles the idle is unplugging the TPS. With the TPS unplugged, the engine idles perfectly.
Also, the ECU is no longer throwing any codes...I guess I'll be testing my TPS and then I'll clean out the IACV.
