stupid crank bolt

Default stupid crank bolt

I am curious how to get the crank bolt off. i broke a breaker bar and even the impact gun will not loosen it. fyi the engine is a D15B7 and it is on an engine stand. thatnks ahead of time

how many cfm does your compressor put out? you might wanna try and take it to a shop. even a jiffy lube type place has helped me out before with something as simple as this. their compressors are usually higher grade than your normal house hold one and any time i've asked one of them to do it, they never charged me.

I have had your problem many times before. I would try some sort of penetrating lubricant
like liquid wrench, or knock er loose like that but do not use heat you could screw things up pretty bad. good luck (you will need it)

or just take a bfh and smack it a couple of times and then impact it out

Thats what I would do. You really need a high quaility impact wrench

i have tried an electric impact gun, penetrating lube, a 6 foot cheater bar. i will have to try to again saturday after i soak that bolt everyday till then

Take it to a shop near by and have them zap it off.

i was one i barrowed from work. just never had to take a crank bolt off that was this hard. ill have to think about the shop or see if i have anybody i work with that has a way to help me. thanks for the suggestions everybody. its really appreciative

Do you have the tool to hold the crank pulley and stop it from turning?if not it is a good investment.
Holding tool plus breaker bar with cheater bar and I have not had one I could not get loose(touch wood).
