Icon6 OBD2 H23 Timing expert help??

I just bought a newer H23 that is OBD2 for $80. The kid who sold it to me says the timing belt went, and the valves are mashed. Personally i dont think its an interferance engine and the pistons wouldnt have hit the valves. Does anyone have experiance with this? I am looking to rebuild it either way. But am i ordering valves and pistons or not???

The H23 is an interference engine. Unless your really lucky, there is
likely to be V2P, V2V damage.

hahaha, i have first hand experience, h23's are in fact interference engines. sorrryyy.

if the belt snapped when idling, there's a chance your motor is fine. if it snapped on the highway, say bu-bye to your valves and prolly pistons too.
