yah know.. outta all that. you still didn't say what engine is being used? B16,B20,B18C1, B18B1? VTEC head, etc.

Either way, you lose about 50-70whp on the .48A/R compared to the .63A/R. Especially if using any VTEC cylinder head, you should keep the backpressure down by running the .63A/R. Those take you to about 420whp over 20psi.

My comments still hold above. "Especially if using any VTEC cylinder head, you should keep the backpressure down by running the .63A/R. Those take you to about 420whp over 20psi."

Exactly. Stick to the .63A/R for the GS-R. your change in response would be negligible, but you gain much more in the midrange, and higher end.

you can easily make 400whp on the small turbine.

SRT-4 guys are known to push Garretts to their limits with the .48ar housing, but usually with a 50trim. I've seen a couple in the 360-380whp range with a .48ar/stg3 50trim turbo, usually around 20psi. The 57trim flows a tad more, so 400whp isn't a bad goal. It would require a fine hand in the tuning department though.

my t04e 57 trim .48 backside is maxed out at 302 whp on a d16z6 at 23 psi, and it gets all pissy at full boost, surges like crazy....ha
60-1 this year!...

This is true, though A853s respond to increased backpressure more than hondas with the smaller .48A/R Housing. the cylinder heads of B-series hondas are MUCH more efficient to the effect where they don't like backpressure caused by the smaller turbine housing. That is what will limit a bit of power.

440whp is REALLY pushing a 57 trim. I really wouldn't get hung up on that number. Just enjoy the car.

Good luck. remember to concentrate on the ENTIRE power curve, not just the damn peak number that you get for a split second

Just an update for the people that are wanting to see what kinda numbers my car puts down. I was to put it on the dyno today but I sprung two oil leaks. Now that they are taken care of and everything else is complete the car will see the dyno first thing tomorrow morning at 10:00am. If anybody is wondering who will be tuning my car it will be IMW here in Carlisle,Pa
