b20 in eg timing issue need some input
alright so i have checked my timing and i cant tell if its correct or not (sorry for the newb ??) but i have the valve cover removed and the cam gears are both pointing straight up and are lined up with the head and when i checked the timing marks on the crank pulley the pointer is aimed at the middle of the three marks on the pulley and i didnt know if it was supposed to be pointing at the one off to the right which as i thought it should since its the tdc mark but the haynes book sucks *** cause it doesnt specify where it should be pointing and most of the timning issues that are on here are for single cams or if theyre for dohc it doesnt say where the line should be pointing at if i have the cam gears pointing straight up so if anyone knows than hit me up a small answer will go a long way for me also if it is incorrect when i move the belt and the timing to the correct position would i have to remove the crank pulley and all that other good **** just to reposition it since the belt is good im not planning on changing it out and not really looking forward to removing that pulley but if i have to i will dammit its honda for crying out loud .....thanks ht dudes

first let me say i'v never done a b20 but on my old dohc zc the 3 marks together were 14* 16*(red mark) 18* before tdc and the single mark (should be white i think) is Tdc hope this is some help oh ya ignition timing should me at red mark and the mechanical timing should be at white mark good luck
^he is correct. U must line the cranck up with the single mark not the 3 that r together. Those r used when u time the spark using a timing gun. The single mark is tdc for cylinder one. U will have to reposition the cranck, keep the cam gears lined up, and put the belt on then tension it. Shouldnt have to take the pulley off if the belt is already on there and ur not changing it
