HELP! axle stuck
I was replacing my passenger side axle yesterday and I was up to the point where it's supposed to swing the hub until the axle comes out, but it wont come out. I tried pounding it out with a metal mallet because I was so pissed. I need help. Thanks

need more info than that.....the sohc and dohc have different axle setups therefore may heed different information on how to get it out.....id say you gotta get something pried up between your axle and halfshaft if you got a dual cam......single cam you should be able to just wedge something between the axle and tranny to pop it out., unless your sayin its stuck in the hub.......then you'll maybe need to soak it in something, ive never had this problem but others on this board were on this subject not long ago, try to search for it even though thats kinda a vague topic
alright, sorry for the lack of info. It's actually the stock VX motor (1.5 sohc vtec-e). And yes, it is stuck in the hub and it's not comin out any time soon. I know someone has had this problem. I'm either thinkin that it's siezed or it's the wrong axle. thanks.
sounds like its binding almost..try to wiggle the axle a bit..also, i always hammer it out of the hub because you can't mess anything up....
take a 5 or 10lb hammer and pound the little notch where the LCA and hub connects.. if you hit it hard it enough the LCA and hub will separate, bam.. axle is out..

you can peen the end of the axle over and never get it out if you hit it directly with a metal hammer. Best way is a air chisel in the center hole. Or like one other person said, cut a notch in the lca.

lower control arm
3 big bolts that hold a lower arm on.
its not hard to miss, its the bar that the lower ball joint is connected to
and if you havent gotten it off yet, take 2 crowpars and just pry from eithre side.

Ok, yeah, i've already disconnected that, along with the steering knuckle, and the fork thing that connects to the shocks. so, air chisel?
personally i would not pry on ****, just go to autozone or some where can get a drive shaft press ( it bolts to two studs and held on by lugnuts then has a huge screw in the midle that presses it out)and it will come out in a sec. if you hammer it and flair out the shaft at the end it will take forever to remove.
heres what you need

Alright, I ended up just taking the whole hub off with the axle stuck in it, then takin it up to the shop. It was cool because the guy got it out with an air chisel and I didn't even have to pay. So here's the new problem... the castle nut that connects the LCA wont go on all the way because somehow the threads on the bolt were messed up. So now I'm stuck, any info would help, thanks.
when you popped the lca loose from the ball joint, did you leave the castle nut on most of the way to protect the threads? sometimes the castle nut won't go back on all the way because the ball joint spins, you can try tapping on the bottom with a hammer to set it in place and try to tighten it. if you did damage the threads, you'll probably have to replace that ball joint which requires pressing it in/out.
