Default Help - Identify this melted part... :/

Just dropped $400 on this thing not even two weeks ago... Now it won't start. *Facepalm*

Car turns strong, plenty of battery power, gas in the tank and no smell of gas. Popped the hood to see if there were any loose connections or something, and notice a string of plastic, that was attached to this thing. Looks like this sensor? melted itself. I had pulled off the string of plastic, but you can see a bit of deformation. What is this, and can it cause a car to not start? Sorry for the crappy phone pic quality.

Those look like the emission control solenoids valves.

I can't check for a CEL if the car doesn't start. Honda seems to think the thing is a purge control solenoid valve, which they, and other mechanics I've talked to think would not cause the car to not start.

I should of mentioned I just had to replace a coil pack not even two weeks ago, and the mechanic that did that work thinks there may be another one that went bad. By the book, Honda recommends all 6 coil packs be replaced when one needs to be done.

I'm just going to get it towed over there and find out what's wrong, then go from there.

Friggin weird though some random other part went all buddhist monk on me... This is my second Accord... and seemingly second lemon. -_-

Sorry about your luck but like the mechanic said, the EVAP sol will not cause a no start. An ignition coil on the other hand will. Posting the ignition info in your first post would have been beneficial, as well as your make model and year. Looks like it's going to cost you another $400+ for an easy fix though.

Turns out the car was flooded after moving my car the previous evening out of the garage, then back in. lol *facepalm*

I'm going to replace that purge control solenoid valve. If that valve had been bad for some time now, could it have led to anything else?
