Default Timing and starting problems

91 crx w/jdm b16

well last week i went to start my car to go to school from work and it started fine but right when i was taking off it started to buckle and bog like it was running out of gas. which i thought it was since i was low on gas....

i put gas in it and it takes a long time to start. i finally get it running but right when i give it gas it shuts off. i get it to crank and try to back the car up to a parking spot when it starts running fine i was able to drive the car home but it was running weird back firing and it just sounds off. i get 50 feet from my drive way and i decided to shut the car off and re set the ecu bc there was a check engine light, right when i pop the clutch to start the car the car just dies. it even catches the grass on fire on the side of the street.

so i was thinking that it had jump time. i take everything off to check it and made sure it was at tdc and found this

so i by a new timing belt and i turn the intake cam counter clockwise to match the exhaust.
i put everything back together and i tried to crank it but it dosent crank it turns over fine but no starting.. we grab a timing light and it looks like there is no spark coming from the distributor. i buy a new cap and roter and still nothing...

can anybody help me im kinda at a stopping point and don't know what to check? i didnt know that a timing belt could slip a tooth and cause this much problems ..sorry for the long post just frustrated...

Have you checked the main ground on the thermostat housing? What code is the ECU throwing as you said you have a Check Engine Light?

If you clean that and you still are not getting spark, may want to check the coil in the distributor to see if that maybe that didn't crap out also.

Their are 3 things an engine needs to run. Fuel, Spark and compression. If you have all three then timing is the problem. just to make sure you dont have spark pull a plug wire from one of the plugs and grab a test light. connect your test light to ground and hold the other end about 1/8" away from the metel contact in the plug wire. have ur buddy crank it over and look for spark arcing to your test light. If you dont have any spark check to make sure you have primary ignition should have 12v going to the coil with key on engine off.

If it ran before and now doesn't don't go chasing after other things. It is most likely your timing. Go re-try installing the belt, I know my car being one tooth off bogs like crazy and takes forever to start. Move it to the correct spot and it starts first try. My money is the timing belt is off a tooth.
