Turbo Z6 Setup Opinion
Im putting a turbo kit together. looking for a quick car say mid 13s maybe high 12s. quick spool.
Car: 1994 Honda Civic CX. Z6 swap.
Motor: Eagle Rods, Cp pistons 9:1, zex cam.
Kit: Cast manifold, Garrett t3 60trim. .60 .63a/r. basic intercooler and pipeing. Tial Wastegate. etc.
My questions is will the turbo be to big for the motor. I dont want something that is not going to start building boost til 4500 RPMs. Or should go with something smaller?. Also with the setup now could i break into the time range i want?

jus to give ya an idea, my motor is 9;1 srp eagle rods and arp headstuds, other than that its got stock topend on it including intake mani, have a garrett to4e with a .48 ex housing and its maxed. id say good choice in turbo size, should be in the 320 to 350 whp range? with 23 inch slicks my car went 12.21@113 , so with some seat time your car should go high 11s, so long as you have slicks.....
Also i have seen people use vitara pistons with eagle rods. say went with vitara pistons should i go with eagle rods or similar or go with FJT custom length?....btw thanks for help/opinions.
yeah i think the custom lenght rods bring the compression up to 8.5;1 instead of the 7.4 or whatever it is with regular eagles and vitaras.
i just sold a z6 with eagles and vitaras. the only real downside was that the car really didnt get good gas mpg because of the lower compression in vacuum i was always driving around at like 7" instead of 15" or so.
my vitara motor made 190/166 on 8 psi with a tdo5 15t from a saab,on around 14 psi it went 13.8@104 with bad 60 foots and a slightly slipping clutch in a eg hatch.
i think the 60 trim will be a nice turbo, but your going to need 15+ psi to hit your goals, necessitating a larger map sensor and a decent tune

Turbo is too small IMO. I ran a couple different 60 trims on two different Z6s...to much power down low to get traction and not enough top end. A .48 a/r 50 trim t3/t4 is mint.
