Default Help! Removing stripped bolt

Hey guys im trying to remove my log-style exhaust manifold and theres one last bolt that i just cant get... Its the one in the middle underneath the manifold, so i cant get a socket on it and a wrench is just stripping it more. I dont have access to a welder, are there any special tools that would fit in the small space?

this

plus properly sized open wrench. wrench should be thin enough to get some rotation. an adjustable wrench is probably too big.

That one is trouble. If you have a slim pair a vise grips, you can try grabbing it that way. Try both 6-point and 12-point wrenches, otherwise, cut that bitch off.

The oil dipstick is right underneath it so it blocks a lot of movement, i bought some needlenose vice grips today so i will try that tomorrow morning, if that doesnt work i will buy that stripped bolt thing if i can find it.

I recommend what alphaalanos said. Also, Try and use 6-point wrenches and sockets on old cars. They get more grip along the whole face of bolts/nuts and are less likely to round the edges. Also, try finding the next smallest US Standard size wrench (not metric like what the nut is). Sometimes mixing the standard on rusted the nuts with round edges will help. Good luck.

What is the name of this piece here? Are they easy to find?

Do these need to be hammered on? Or should it slide on ok... because there is no room to bang a piece onto the nut.

You can get the ones like that at Sears.. I wanna say its like $20 for a set of 5. Don't get the ones from Harbor Freight, they don't work very well. And yeah soak it in pb blaster like the guy above me said.

just spray some DW-40 to get rid of that rust, use a torch even a $35 cheap one will work, and it should come loose.

don't use vise grips untill you've tried evething, and don't cut it off! or you will be driling, then using a tap and die, and you will also have to buy a new screw and the tool used to screw it in with out stripping the threads,

What alphalanos mentioned works fine if applying pressure from the front, but since you probably won't have too much leverage pushing on the nut, it might be tough..
if nothing else works, you can try this.. you can probably get it from the top.. just another option..
G/L with that. I hate seized bolts..
