LS/V or B18C5?
i have an opportunity to get a comlpete B18c5 swap with LSD tranny to throw in my DA. If i get that motor i would have $2k to spend on it. If i stick with my LS/V plans it would be a while til i get enough money to finish my build, but i was planning on going all out on either. My predicament is that the ITR swap was not really the direction i was going in. My original plan was to go LS/V and work at it til it was fully built NA. But with the offer of the complete ITR for cheap its kinda hard to pass on it. If i had the ITR i would look more to the side of Boosting it (work at it, even with the high compression), but still might keep it NA. So i guess the real question is, which motor would have more potential or be better in the long run?
NA fully built LS/V(GSR head), NA fully built ITR, or Boosted ITR?
My goals are mainly for auto cross, touge, and freeway pulls, not so much 1/4 mile. Boosting isnt really the answer for auto cross and touge, but later im going to have 2 cars, one boost, one NA, and i want the DA boosted.
I forgot to add, i can get the ITR motor BAR'd and not risk the consequences getting pulled over with LS/Vtec. But in the end theres gonna be a lot of non-carb-legal parts on either motor. So it might not really matter, id be fk'd either way.

LSVTEC na or boost. Think about it. If both your options are built, then take the extra stroke. That torque will pay off. You can rev a properly built lsvtec just as high as a itr.
Ive seen guys build lsvtecs with a little over 2k in parts (not including price of block head and tranny) and make 200+.
ctr pistons are cheap, and stick to my theory, "its all in your head"...you'll be fine with lsvtec.

Buy the ITR swap and use it for now. Sell the short block later when you have built an LS bottom end (which you were going to do anyway). You will have a better transmission (with an LSD) and a good cylinder head.
