Lately while driving my 02 EM2, ive been hearing all sorts of unusual noises.
1st, sometime when the car is turned on or while im driving i hear this weird electrical sounding noise coming from the engine. It increases and decreases when i accelerate or decelerate.

2nd, and I think i might know what it is, my passenger side axle is clicking. I believe its the axle because when I turn to the right its begins to click. It sounds like a can is being spun around across the ground.

any advice or tips?

 

First issue sounds like a pulley bearing. Check them all (alt, idlers, timing belt tensioner, ac compressor ect.) with a stethoscope to narrow down which one it is. The second does sound like a CV joint. Any tears in the boot to allow moisture in?

I will have to check the cv boot for tears, i have yet to do that.

next time the car makes that noise, i will pull over and inspect the areas you recommended!
