You should call Phearable tech support.

The basic 2-step is speed based, which means your VSS sensor signal is not reaching the ECU properly either because of the sensor itself or the wiring.

It doesnt necessarily mean that the VSS sensor is bad. Alot of times I've found the pins to be corroded for the VSS plug. I usually just cut a spare pigtail of another harness and soder it in and all is good. Its usually the middle pin that is the worst. Which if memory serves me right is the 12v power too the sensor.

vss was same one that was working on the d series in the car before i swapped in the ls/vtec so thats why i didnt think that was causing it. n my speedo still works fine, could it still be the problem?

Yes, just because it makes it to the dash does not mean it makes it to the ECU. Check the wiring.

To get technical support all you had to do is go to http://www.phearable.net & click on contact.

If you are having issues with your vehicle not being able to exceed the 2 step rpm you need to do the following:
1. Check your codes.
2. Check to see if a speed signal is being reported to your ecu.

The ecu needs to see a vehicle speed before it will allow the vehicle to exceed the 2 step rpm.

Let me know if I can answer any other questions.

It could be the pin for that signal is wonky or loose.

when i use my ecu outta my other car (b20vtec) with this chip in it (ls/vtec) it revs like it should but idles erratic, when i use this chip in the p28 it idles fine but wont rev past twostep and runs pretty terrible (bad ecu), so now i chipped my po6 but did not convert it to vtec yet and it idles fine n runs great but i cant rev past two step again. y would the vss signal make it through to b20vtec ecu but not to the other two? is it because the po6 isnt converted to vtec yet?
