Default My D16z6 rebuild

I figured I'd post a few pics of the rebuild I'm working on this week. Not much else to do and I can answer questions if anyone is thinking about doing their own.

Putting the new valve stem seals on. Mic'd everything while I was at it.

Guy that had this engine before me tried to rtv the lma holder! ha!

Cam lubed up, new lma holder and torqued it all down.

Just seeing what my diy paintjob on the valve cover looks like.

Well as long as it was running good before I'd try to do as little as possible! If it ain't broke.. If the engine is really greasy like there are some slow oil leaks I'd get a gasket kit from autozone. Oil pan, head, cam front, spark plug tube seals, etc. felpro kit for about $100. It has some gaskets and seals that you won't really need though unless you plan on taking it all apart.

I can't say about your shocks. you should get better throttle response with a lighter flywheel, but I think 11lbs is just under the weight of the stock one isn't it?

You need a woodruff key to lock your cam and cam gear. I used some from a b18 I had laying around, you can order it from honda.

do i need to replace the valves and valve springs? Im adding a stage one cam. I did the easy stuff like replace the pumps and belts and gaskets. This is my first rebuild in terms of a slightly tuned motor.

Does the manufacturer suggest you install different springs? It's not that hard to do. If you're replacing the gaskets you should do the valve oil seals too anyhow.
