it's important to get the exact amount in there and then check the pressures and cooling capabilities to ensure it was done right. thosee little bottles from the auto parts store won't get you there. the machine you would need to do it right... around $3,000 for a good used one.

another problem with those bottles is that there is a reason that you are recharging it. your A/C shouldnt ever need recharged unless it is leaking somewhere. with the bottles you wont be able to find the leak to fix it. you need the $3,000 dollar machine to be able to put dye in there to find the leak.
OP you said that you blew an A/C hose, how did that happen? just trying to find out if there may be an underlying problem that cause this to happen in the first place...
aren't all the A/C "hoses" technically lines (metal) anyways? "hose" would mean that its rubber. maybe it isn't really an A/C line? that or he just called it a hose instead of a line. i just can't think of anything that would cause a metal A/C line to blow.... i guess we wait till the OP responds.
